Some Blue for Today

I used a Kreatorville Kraft kit for this layout, (make sure to head to their site- some great deals going on!)
We have a turtle sandbox that we had been using as a pool for the last few summers, but have upgraded to an inflatable pool for this summer. When we would be in the backyard, Audrey would just hop in there with her clothes on. These pictures are so her:)

Easy as Pie

Boy, do I love pie. It even tops cake on my list. Good thing I can't bake a pie to save my life, or I would be in trouble ;)
I used
Elle's Studio Digital tags for the toppers. They are the USA Vintage ones. This is the first time I have really worked with digital files and it was super easy. I promise! You can type in what wording you want and voila- custom tags. I even sized the file so I could easily punch them out with a circle punch. LOVE IT! Here is the secret, if you are not a pie maker/baker (like me)- Wal Mart has mini pies for 63 cents! There are lots of flavors- blueberry, apple, you name it. These would be great for a 4th party.

Theme Week!

I love the 4th of July and everything that comes with it...so I thought it would be fun to have a whole week dedicated to this holiday and color combo. There may even be some fun surprises ;) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #15

Summer Time at the Beach: Create a project for summer using something you would find at the beach.

I have been wanting to try some stenciling for quite a while, so this was my try at it ;) I was looking for a tea towel in yellow, and couldn't find one. So, this is actually a cloth napkin! I used life is a Beach cartridge for the anchor.I cut it out with card stock and then sprayed the back lightly with some adhesive. I then painted with black fabric paint. The ruffle is a strip of polka dot fabric that I pushed through the sewing machine while stitching to give a ruffled effect. This will go in our tiki trailer, I really needed some hand towels in there.

Minnie Party- More Details...

I'll admit that this wasn't my most favorite cake to make...but, Audrey loved it- and that's what counts :) The bottom was a 12 inch cake pan (that took two boxes of cake mix!) I then had a bow candy mold and just stuck them to the bottom edge. The cupcake liners were black and white polka dots. I found the bows at the fabric store for 15 cents a piece. They easily slid into the toothpicks.

Audrey taking a snack break.

I put a bunch of bows in a jar to have everyone guess the amount. It was quite the hit.

The mouse ears were cut with my Cricut. I then punched holes in the top and bottom and threaded through the straws.

I found these purses and cute little headbands to put in them for the girls. The boys got chalk and a hot wheel (Dante helped pick those out!)
More photos at Flickr, if interested! Thanks for checking out Audrey's 2nd Birthday:)

Crop Suey Challenge #11

The Crop Suey challenge for this week was to use paint. I got the black paint out for this one!

Minnie Party Goodie Table

I have allot of images to share from Miss Audrey's second birthday!! So, I am going to split it out over separate posts as not to get too overwhelming :)

This was the treat table that was set up in the front entry. I have a "baking closet" with lots of containers and trays, so I just shopped from there to put out all the treats.

I have got to say that this fabric was one of my favorite things! I found it at a local fabric store and knew it was a must. It was 9 dollars a yard (hence, I got one yard!) My mother in law serged the edges with black thread.

My mom is always looking out for good deals for party favors...So, these sunglasses were in my stock pile. I just hung them on a Mickey Mouse glass for the kiddos to pick out their favorite color.

More to come:)

Staycation: Old School Style

The hubby's birthday was over the weekend, and coincidentally my family was in town... So it was time to leave the house ;) We stayed at the Valley Ho, it was just too much fun. It was really close to lots of restaurants, so we braved the heat at went out on the town.

And, I am going to have a layout published in Scrapbook News and Review! I hadn't gotten around to posting it on the blog, so now it will have to wait a little while...it was a new favorite!
